La Hora Dorada ("La Hora Dorada," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Three Bees LLC, a Washington limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit lahoradorada.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
We built this Site around a simple promise: tell travelers the truth and respect them. That extends to your data. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell it, and we use privacy-respecting tools by default.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. The short version
- We use cookieless, privacy-first analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami). They do not use cookies, do not track you across other websites, and do not build a profile of you.
- We do not show ads and do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We earn commissions from affiliate links. When you click one, the partner you're sent to may use cookies or other tracking to attribute the referral. Where the law requires it (for visitors in the EU/UK), we ask for your consent before any non-essential affiliate tracking runs. See Section 6.
- We will offer an email update list (so we can tell you when the rules covered in our guides change). This is opt-in only.
- You have rights over your data, including access and deletion. See Section 9.
3. Information we collect
We aim to collect the minimum necessary. Specifically:
a. Analytics data (automatically collected)
When you visit the Site, our analytics tools record limited, aggregated technical information such as pages viewed, approximate region (derived from your IP address but not stored in a way that identifies you), referring website, device type, and browser. Both tools we use (Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami) are cookieless and do not collect personal data that identifies you individually or track you across other sites.
b. Hosting and security data (automatically processed)
Our Site is hosted on and delivered through Cloudflare. As our hosting, content-delivery, and security provider, Cloudflare processes technical request data, including your IP address, to deliver pages, protect the Site against abuse and denial-of-service attacks, and keep it running. This processing is necessary to operate the Site securely.
c. Email address (only if you choose to give it)
If you choose to subscribe to our emails, we will collect the email address you provide as well as general location information such as country name. We use this solely to send the updates you asked for and remain in compliance with applicable privacy laws. The subscription process will run through Cloudflare.
d. Information you send us directly
If you email us at hello@lahoradorada.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
We do not ask for or collect sensitive personal information, and the Site is not directed to children (see Section 11).
4. Why we use your information, and our legal basis
For visitors in the EU and UK, the table below sets out our purpose and legal basis under the GDPR / UK GDPR. (If you're outside those regions, we still handle your data as described here.)

5. Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers ("processors") who help us run the Site, and only as needed:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, content delivery, security, and cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics). Stores subscriber email addresses and sends the updates you requested, including unsubscribe handling.
- Umami — cookieless website analytics.
- Google Search Console — provides us aggregate search-query data (e.g., which searches surface our pages). It reports trends, not your personal browsing, but we list it here for completeness.
- Affiliate networks and partners — when you click an affiliate link, the destination partner (and any network that manages the link) may receive referral and click data so the referral can be attributed. We don't pass your name or email to them; the data flows from your interaction with their link. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how this works.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
6. Cookies, affiliate tracking, and consent
Analytics: Our analytics are cookieless.
Affiliate links: Clicking an affiliate link may cause the destination partner to set cookies or use other tracking to attribute your referral. This is "non-essential" tracking under EU/UK ePrivacy rules. For visitors in the EU and UK, we ask for your consent before any non-essential affiliate tracking runs, through a consent mechanism that:
- never uses pre-ticked boxes;
- makes declining as easy and prominent as accepting; and
- lets you change your mind at any time.
If you decline, you can still read everything on the Site and use every link — the referral simply may not be attributed to us.
Essential operation: Some processing by our host (Cloudflare) is strictly necessary to deliver and secure the Site and does not require consent.
7. International data transfers
We operate from the United States, and some of our providers process data in the US and elsewhere. If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with data-transfer rules, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, our providers rely on recognized transfer mechanisms (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) to protect your information. 8. How long we keep your information
- Analytics: retained in aggregate/non-identifying form by our analytics providers; not tied to you.
- Hosting/security logs: retained only as long as needed to operate and protect the Site.
- Email subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe, and for a short period afterward to honor your opt-out and meet legal obligations, then deleted.
- Emails you send us: kept as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights over your personal information:
- Access — get a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — fix inaccurate data.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your data.
- Objection / restriction — object to or limit certain processing.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, where we rely on consent (e.g., email updates, affiliate-tracking consent), without affecting prior processing.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example, the UK ICO, or your EU member-state supervisory authority).
To exercise any of these, email hello@lahoradorada.com. We'll respond within the time the applicable law requires. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
We are likely below the thresholds that make the CCPA/CPRA apply, and we do not sell your personal information for money. However, affiliate referral tracking can be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any such "sharing." To make a request, or to opt out, email hello@lahoradorada.com. We will treat a request to decline affiliate tracking as a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" request.
10. Security
We use privacy-respecting tools, collect little, and rely on Cloudflare's security infrastructure to protect the Site. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold.
11. Children
The Site is intended for adults planning travel and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at hello@lahoradorada.com and we'll delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site grows. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll make the update obvious on the Site.
